These Desires
To taste the sunlight as it dances from the forbidden
Eager to breathe what remains of this fragile tragedy
Willingly ignorant to the silent screams echoing in the distance
For no one's ears but my own
The core of this shallow existence
Brought to life by this lingering fear
As it angrily flirts with agile temptation
To starve myself of this
Would mean suffocation at its worst
Stealing my breath while devouring my desires
The true meaning of death itself
Craving no more than to place my hand in the fire
For the flame is the only thing that will save me
Bleeding with envy
Choking on the thorns of a black rose
I am wilting with every second spared
Drowning in pure satisfaction as I close my eyes to dream-
