Succumb
The wind takes away
What the body exhales
In the silent waters
Of a tucked away past
Hidden for all to see
This wandering behavior
So selfishly seeks
The troubles of the ones before it
Slighting the last breath of a stranger
So violent his intentions
As the body weeps
For never will they truly be yours
Or mine
Or anyone's
Save them
Before they can no longer see
The wasteland of that
Which begs to sleep
In the fire of a new beginning
To wash away the sands
That bury them here-
