Soar
A touch so bittersweet
Her tired eyes refuse to see
What her heart
Already understands.
Every particle of fear
That once held her together
No longer remains.
For it is not their judgment
Which defines her
But the strength
Of a pure and eager soul
To taste the freedom
Only her own wings
Can give her
As she is free to soar
To unimaginable heights
Undefined by a captive heart-
Her tired eyes refuse to see
What her heart
Already understands.
Every particle of fear
That once held her together
No longer remains.
For it is not their judgment
Which defines her
But the strength
Of a pure and eager soul
To taste the freedom
Only her own wings
Can give her
As she is free to soar
To unimaginable heights
Undefined by a captive heart-
