Gravity

The sun slowly set beyond the horizon 

As the clouds drifted overhead

Sending temporary shadows 

Dancing across the ocean in front of them. 

Moments like this were few and far between 

As the business of every day life 

Consumed the majority of their waking hours. 

The loneliness that also followed them 

Had suddenly disappeared 

The moment their eyes met again 

And the only thing weighing them down tonight 

Was gravity-
