Waiting For Disaster
Heart pounding numbness at the thought,
Intimate reminders of a time long forgotten.
He was hidden among them,
Their many voices blending into one.
He played his part for them.
So ignorant.
I watched from a distance
Knowing so much more than they ever would.
They were missing so much.
Only seeing what stood in front of them
While I read his words over and over
Until they no longer made sense.
They blindly kept us apart
And then she was there.
She wore his ring and he hated it.
The three of us at the same place in time.
It had never happened.
Not like this.
It was like a dream.
There was no beginning and no end.
Just waiting.
Waiting for disaster-
