7: The Angel's Kiss
Escaping the tarnished shackles of pain
And walking directly into its open arms,
Shuttering not as I willingly smiled into the eyes of deception.
Reaching out a steady hand
To the one whose aim was to pull me under,
Suffocate me with her hatred
And then bury me beneath the thorns of yesterday.
Unrestrained,
I dared to taste the wine on her lips.
So sweet yet so potent
For the poison she injects is swift,
Flowing through my every vein
And directly into my heart,
Rendering me weaker with every drop.
So foolish was I to ever believe
Such an angel existed behind those sapphire eyes,
While being thrust into this wonderful abyss
Which had only existed in the absence of reality.
Born again,
This unlikely union between the sinner and the saint.
The line so blurred now
As each played her part like before.
Roles which could be played by none other,
For there is no story that can compare to this.
Shining like a beacon amidst an angry sea,
Perhaps saving the best for last.
I willingly placed my shield onto the soil beside her feet
As she whisked me away into her own abyss
Far into the depths of a twisted fantasy,
Where shadows speak in tongues unrecognizable
And the streams run cold.
Saving myself.
Never a second thought.
Perfectly content on this road with her.
Inhaling every moment and many they would become.
A slave to her every spoken word.
Captivated by every touch only meant to persuade me.
I believed, as I had before.
Only now, the seeds had been securely sewn.
Deep into the fertile soil they rest,
Nourished by the bond between us.
Those endless nights surrounded by the stars,
Flesh against flesh,
With the sand beneath our feet.
Addicted to the sweet nectar slowly suffocating me.
Surrendering all that I possessed
To the most sinister of all the queens,
For her wings were no longer broken,
But simply ceased to exist.-
