I Am
I am proud.
Not for the material things, but of the hard work that it took to get me here. It was never an easy journey. I stumbled a few times along the way, but in order to achieve, we must pull ourselves back to our feet and continue walking. When others told me that I couldn't, I proved to them that I could. When they stood in my way, I simply found a way to walk around them.
I am proud of the person I have become. I was strong, because I had to be. I was determined, because there was no other way. I was confidant, because they were watching. I am still those things and no one can ever take that away.
I am proud of the little things. The accomplishments that go unnoticed. The goals that I never speak about.When I see them smile. The home that I made from barely nothing and all that I have overcome.
Most of all, I am grateful. Not only for what was to come, but of everything that was left in the past.-
