The Wandering Leaf

                 Virginia Beach, VA. June 13, 2022

My daughter found this while walking through a parking garage today. 

Perhaps, the least likely of places to find a leaf in the first place. 

She picked it up, excited by its shape, but instead of keeping it she simply asked that I take a picture. 

"I want to leave it here for someone else to find." she said simply, as she gently let it fall back onto the floor. 

I was then reminded that there are times in our lives when we love so deeply and though we want nothing more than to hold onto that love forever, we must deny our selfish ways and simply let go... 

This love will always remain just as beautiful as the day we discovered it, but by releasing it 

we allow another who may need it even more to experience and hold onto it for as long as they need to.-
