Broken
He studies her words
But the landscape is unfamiliar.
Memories never made,
Or were they?
Purple sunsets and storms over the ocean.
Silhouettes in the moonlit sand.
She stares into his eyes,
A blank canvas,
Where splashes of color no longer dance.
Boundaries made
Remain unbroken,
Savoring the promises of another.
She feels him still.
Never open,
Opaque and obsolete.
The words she speaks
Are foreign to his ears,
As her laughter remains unchanged.-
