Another Day
A fantasy.
The supporting character in their story.
A mere distraction from the monsters
That feed on their minds.
She is a writer,
But not of her own story.
Pretending.
Blending seamlessly into the walls
With a pretty smile and stupid humor.
They never see her breaking,
Even as the pieces fall.
She loves with a vengeance
Seldom recognized,
Though it remains the kindest gesture.
Desperation
Lost at the bottom of a bottle,
Sweet dreams
And her own fantasies.
When another day she wakes
To the same reflection,
The same people and their same ways.
Chasing words across the paper
With an empty pen,
Broken keys and another bottle.-
