Rip it off like a stubborn band aid.

Her smile is something beautiful

I watch what it does to you

She's embedded into your heart like a tattoo

Falling under the knife because she loves you.

Promises only spoken 

Your hand in mine a superficial love token

Sticking band aides on a heart that is fatally broken

Cutting deeper each time your mouth opens. 

This fantasy in front of your face

Leaving jagged imprints at a steady pace

Dead last in this metaphorical race 

While stumbling blind all over the place.

See, because my heart beats too

And it only does so for you

Believing every word that your lips spew 

Proudly representing the desperate fool.

All this time something inside of me knew
